Hi at all! I am very happy of this beautiful forum.
I have a mp4 player with:
FW= B806K8x_v4.1 [date 2006/10/24]
CORE= 9.0.48 [date 2006/09/12]
1.8" TFT and 262.000 color
2.0 gb of memory
When I use amv converter 4.04, the video clip go in crash after little seconds and the imagines aren't full screen. The same problems are with version 4.05 and oldies 4.03, 3.74 and 3.68.
I have the best conversion with 4.00 (downloaded from this site) and with installation of klcodec 2.69: my clip are now 160x120 full screen and fluid for the whole time.
I use windows XP service pack 2.
You excuse my bad English. I hope only to have helped someone...

Hi, sorry but with version 4.00 it is not possible to modify these options.
These options are already setting at the best.
You can try with new versions 4.04 or 4.05...

Has anyone tested out the new 4.07 version
I'd rather move forward with the nice option in 4.0 than the options in 3.68.
Last version I tried was 4.05, and that was still giving me format errors after 3-5 seconds of video. I've given up on video, and staying with Audio four now.
Thing that bugs me now with audio is the short life time of the battery when it is in standby mode without the screen on. |

when i try to convert into amv, i need to have the pixel size 128x96. the problem is the only options it gives me are 128x128 and 160x120. i then installed the versian 4.09 but its smallest size was 160x120. where can i find a converter that will allow me to choose 128x96? |

I have a nano look alike, and any time I convert video to AMV using 3.68 3.71 4.00 or any of those, it plays them for about 3-5 seconds and then stops and goes back to the menu. I also have played them on my computer with AMV viewer. This also plays them for 3-5 seconds and stops. I am wondering what is the problem. Do you think I don't have the right codec's? I have downloaded the jeffereson's South Park episode off of here, and it works fine when it plays. So I think it is a problem with the software or codecs or something. I have uninstalled and reinstalled all of them atleast twice. So I am at a loss. If anyone can help it would be appreciated, and also if someone could explain how codec's work that would be great too.
Thanks |

I'm actually having the exact same problem. I just got my "Chipod" in today from Uxcel. It's one of the "i-Platinum" series, the new one with the 1.8in LCD ( Link from UxCell).
It didn't come with any software, but I was able to find the AMV convert tool v4.0 off the web. Converted a few files (after converting them to WMV first, everything else crashed when trying to convert it straight) and was able to convert quite a few music videos. When playing on the actual machine though, the video was a bit slow and caused the video to skip in places. It tended to be where there was a lot of movement so my guess was the Chipod can't keep up with the video at the 'high' settings. As noted you can't change the settings on v4.0 so I upgraded to v4.05. Was able to change the settings there, video converted OK but it freezes after 4-5 seconds.
I then tried v4.07 and v4.09 all had the same effect. Video freezes after a few seconds on each file. I'm now back down to 3.68 but it doesn't support the full screen of the i-Platinum which is a bummer. Is there any version of the AMV conversion tool that supports 160x120, allows you to bump the quality down to at least 'medium' and doesn't lock up after 5 seconds? Any help would be appreciated. |

OK i was able to suss out the problem.
Here's the situation. Versions 3.57 and 3.58 don't support the 160x120 format that the i-Platinum screen uses. You can convert it to a lower setting, say 120x120 and it will work but obviously not full screen.
v4.0 of the AMV Convert tool will convert to 160x120, however for whatever reason you can't set the quality rates. This causes problems as at 'high' setting my i-Platinum skips quite a bit to the point where its rather unwatchable on most clips.
v4.03+ of the AMV Convert tool has a 'bug' where 160x120 mode is actually being converted as 178xwhatever which causes the i-Platinum to crash after a few seconds.
Solution? Best I could find was this post right here which tells you how to modify v3.57 to convert to 160x120.
Maybe at some point they'll "fix" the 160x120 problem in the AMV tool. Not sure why they wouldn't catch it.. from what I can tell the i-Platinum is a pretty popular model. Who knows. |

Hmm my problem was opposite of yours..When I converted with 3.68 it messed up my videos and when I did it without 4.0 the video is good again...I think it depends on the type of computer you have. |
