I bought one of these 4gb touchscreens last week but not from the site in the web link, I bought on ebay -

The software it came with was useless and I spent 3 days just trying loads of different converters out, all to no avail. All I was getting was "file format error". Songs were ok, I just couldnt get the video to work.

Eventually I stumbled upon this forum and (every player should be sold with a address of this place to make everybodys life easier) found LOCKSTERS software, VIDROP.

Wow, it worked 1st time, I couldnt believe my luck and not only did it work but the video was much better than the video bundled with the player, the picture is very very good for the money I paid for the player.

After getting over my initial jubilation I noticed that the picture would jerk in quite a few spots during films, so I spent time changing FPS, bitrate etc but the jerking remained and voice synq went out of the window.
I thought it might be the player but thankfully it isnt because the same jerkiness occurs when playing the video back on the Pc, so now Im left with a player that has great video but jerks the picture as if there are frames missing from the conversion.

Has anybody else had similar problems and can reccommend any other software that will work for this player as it is definately quite choosey what it likes to play conversions for.

Another big thank you to Lockster for the Vidrop software.

Dear Hawk,

try this value as an "Extra Mencoder Parameter" in viDrop:

-speed 0.96

And set the "Framerate" as 24fps, this combination should solve the Sync-problem.

Thank you very much lca77,

I have had to start using DVD Ripper 2.25 due to vidrop not decoding certain dvd,s for some reason?

I downloaded to the mpg4 format and then converted to Avi using Vidrop and your parameters, the video is now very clear and very smooth with NO skipping or jerkng at all in the playback and no audio synq problems. Ive only tested on 10 minutes of video so far and am currently converting a full 2 hour movie to see how the synqing holds up.

Ill let everyone know how it goes in this thread once its complete.

Well, after doing a full 2.5 hour conversion the video and sound came out perfectly, so a big thumbs up.

The trouble is now I think the codecs are corrupted, vidrop wont work at all, Avi converter 4 wont work.

Vidrop doesnt let me access the dvd section at all, Dvd ripper always asks me to run "Power DVD" before it will let me access Ripper ? Maybe something to do with encryptions.

So I managed to get 1 perfect conversion done before all the conversion/ripping software somehow became corrupted.

I tried deleting everything to do with Avi/converters/dvd rippers etc but some files I could not delete. Also tried system restore, so something has gone amiss on my pc that I cannot detect and, not sure I want to delete the media packages on that came with the pc but have a feeling the code could be altered in them in some way now (after DVD Ripper telling me to run Power dvd which came in the bundle).

Anyway, the parameters for the above player worked perfectly (while it lasted) if anyone else is having problems with stuttery videos.

IMO viDrop .55 is coming with a buggy MEncoder.exe that should be better replaced by an older version. At first use i've missed the mp2-sound in videos - after I've exchanged Mencoder.exe in viDops installationdir, this problem would'nt be seen anymore.

I don't know much about dvd-rippings with or without viDrop; the css encryption maybe running viDrop into some troubles - like you mentioned. Try the ripping again with a DVD without encryption and ask lockster himself for a helping hand.

Thanks for all the help lca77, much appreciated!

I ended up wiping everything off the pc that had anything to do with codecs and ripping etc, I then had to re-install the mpeg4 codec to get windows media player to play video again. I then installed xvid and vidx codecs. Then I re-downloaded vidrop.
After doing that I tried converting a film to avi from the source file I used to make the perfect copy with, what happened is when I double clicked the "new made" avi file it tried to load up in media player and a box appeared like a graph whith a horizontal line going through it, this is what was worded above it -

AVI Chunk viewer

This avi file was not prepared for sequential reading, the alternative "avi splitter" will now let the default one handle it. The complete reinterleavng of the file is strongly reccomended before burning it onto a slow medium like a cd rom.

Ok, the file I made was a standard file with no added parameters but it deffinately looks like im missing some kind of code from somewhere.

Just closed the Avi chunk box and the video has started to play, doubt it will work on a mp4 player though.

Dear maikuu,

didi you really tried viDrop with my quoted values ? If this won't help try another, additional Extra Mencoder parameter: -delay +-value like this example: -delay -0.2
Use it in steps by 0.1 in both directions, until Sound and Picture fits perfectly together Smile

Good luck and rgrds,

I just uploaded the AVI Converter program 3.0 320x240 and was successful in converting flv to avi and then avi to avi for this unit. Onda Clone 858 (LE) 320x240 2.8" screen.

I get music and video in sync. There are two versions a 20 fps and 22 fps that came with my unit. Don't know it the 20fps made it up here or not, but the 22fps is posted.

Was also successful in converting a DIVX AVI movie to avi format with this program.

Forgive my ignorance Ika, but how do you do the thing you suggested:

"try this value as an "Extra Mencoder Parameter" in viDrop:

-speed 0.96

And set the "Framerate" as 24fps, this combination should solve the Sync-problem."

I cannot see any parameters in ViDrop to allow me to do as described. At least not in the general control panel. Your help would be much appreciated.

Dear laser558,

there are 2 additional inputfields called "Extra parameters" under "Advanced Settings" in viDrop 0.56.1. Into the first field named "mencoder" you have to type in

-speed 0.96

The framerate is called "FPS"; change the shown value into 24 by typing too. I'll hope these words will lead you to success Smile

Grettings from Germany!

I bought the same one.
The Player has a Anyka Chip.
I had the same problems like he told, I will try the parameters you wrote.
I am now at work.
Additional question.
What is the best thing to choose from on the top of Vidrop. I mean these preset Settings like "Rockchip medium" for a Anyka Player.
I am not at home so I dont know if there is an option.

And if I would still have problems with jerking picture would it be better to raise or drop the Bitrate?

I first tryed it with "Rockchip High" what is 300 bit.

When I did that I did not know I have a Anyka Chip in the Player.

And one addition question for all owner of this player, have you tryed the convert software that is one the disc included?
I transformed my videos before my player came trying ViDrop.
Is the convert Software on the disc good or is it crap?
