Bad Seller mingxin71gmail - But I got the final word Wink

I was sold (like many others) a 4GB Ipod Gen 2 Clone for around $30 free ship. I should have known th deal was to good to be true but oh well I will finish that later.

When the item arrived it worked but something seemed odd. The player would randomly spit out Invalid Format errors with videos and reboot on certain mp3's. I jumped on google to see what the problem was and found this site. I did not only use the memory erasing hack but I also disassembled the unit for photo and video proof of the scam. Sure enough my chip was only a 2GB (I came out lucky) but by the time I took the unit apart the unit had already died after only several hours of use. I contacted the seller asking specifically if the unit was hacked and he only offered the other leg of the scam "send the unit back for replacement". I did one better and file a paypal claim along with writing ebay. This as you know will get you NO WHERE as these two companies will request you send the unit back.

So how did I get a refund and get to keep my new 2GB flash drive? By not giving up. Do not stop because no one wants help you! Start writing everyone else who purchased your player using the contact member button. If enough people know they are scammed you are MUCH more likely to get a refund. 1 hour after I contacted other members the sell wrote me and offered half of my purchase price. I refused and said it was not good enough. I then said if he paid me full price I would stop writing his buyers on a daily basis and send the unit back. He fell for it and refunded me (NEVER FEEL BAD RIPPING OFF A SCAMMER! imagine how many people got nothing from the transaction!). So now because the seller did not want me ruining his business I have a full refund and new 2GB flash drive only as the player function is really broke.

Just my 2 cents, DON'T GIVE UP and do not let them scam others. My thought is if you let these people continue to scam others than you are just as guilty for not doing something about it. If I did keep my word and return this hacked player it would only have been resold to another ebayer as a 4GB. Burn them as they tried to burn you. If more people take this stance they will not last long in the selling community.

Hi GefilTefish,

If you wanted to be sure, try folllowing the guide here: How To: Removing Memory Hack.

Hopefully that will help you remove any possible memory hacks in your player.

Let us know how you get on.

that is the thing, he was nice but you came out extremely lucky that you read my post. ALL of his players (CONFIRMED) are hacked so your 4gb woul have only been a 1gb or 2gb. I think he buys from different sources. If you had received the item i can guarantee you would have had to of paid shipping back and would have only gotten a partial refund.......luckily I played a little hardball but again just glad you read this post. Many others were not so lucky......
